How It All Began

Since an early age I have been on a lifelong journey with horses and have always been passionate about their care.

My own horse Sage struggled with hoof health issues, and which often left her sore after each farrier visit, and only these problems worsened with age. I knew there was more that could be done for her, and I was frustrated when my questions went unanswered by traditional farrier practices. This led me down the path to explore alternative methods for hoof care, and then to attend the Oregon School of Natural Hoof Care and to receive my certification to become a hoof care provider for the growing number of horse owners desiring effective hoof care principles. I remained with the school for 7 years and was an instructor for the my last 5 years there before moving on to my own private practice.

Method And Style Of Hoof Care

My goal is to practice proven successful hoof trimming techniques with a thorough awareness in hoof anatomy and understanding hoof growth. I use a mapping system that allows an understanding of where the internal structures are within the hoof prior to trimming. I trim to the internal structures which provides both heel-to-toe and lateral-medial balancing and joint comfort for the equine and to effectively achieve a successful result.
