Equi-First Aid Instructor

Equi-First Aid provides veterinarian-designed and monitored courses in equine health and emergency first aid, basic first aid for kids, advanced first aid, wilderness first aid, and aid horse owners with equine emergencies. Or courses are allow horse owners to have the same “first-responder skills” for their animals, as humans have for each other through their Red Cross training.

Hoof Care Services

My goal is to practice proven successful hoof trimming techniques with a thorough awareness in hoof anatomy and understanding hoof growth. I use a mapping system that allows an understanding of where the internal structures are within the hoof prior to trimming. I trim to the internal structures which provides both heel-to-toe and lateral-medial balancing and joint comfort for the equine and to effectively achieve a successful result.

Testimonials

I’ve been on a journey for a good barefoot farrier for over a year. My farrier retired. We found someone that our horses liked but did not have the technical skills. I work in veterinary medicine. I knew their feet weren’t right. Along comes Alana Greene. She has been doing my mares feet and teaching my 16 year old to do her gelding. The gelding had a bad experience before us and the previous owner and gets terrified when an unknown person/farrier works with his back feet. He will let my daughter do anything. In the next trim cycle we will be close to doing it ourselves. Their feet are looking much better.
